To develop skilled and confident makers and performers who feel safe to make mistakes in order to aim higher. Our pupils feel confident and safe to explore, practice, design and present their personal identities, ideas and messages through their creative outlet.
At Grove academy we offer:
Year 7 study Art and Design with a blended Curriculum of Design, Graphics (Design and Technology) and Art with one lesson every week with the same teacher.
Year 8 and 9 study the following subjects on a carousal (changing subjects and teachers every 8-13 weeks):
- Design and Technology Product Design, wood and plastic making
- Design and Technology Graphics and Packaging
- Photography
- Food and Nutrition
Pupils have the opportunity to experieince all subjects at KS3 and select any at KS4 for GCSE.
