Parent Update 19th June

Pinned Announcement

19th June 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope this finds you safe and well. We have so enjoyed welcoming Reception and Year 1 children back to school this week and have been impressed with how quickly they have settled into new routines and ways of learning. It is clear how well you have supported them with home learning during lockdown. Our staff have been working extremely hard preparing work, delivering on site lessons and visiting primary schools to support transition for Year 6 as well as getting to know our prospective Reception children with phone calls to families.

You may be aware that the government has announced today the provision of catch up funds for schools. We greatly welcome this and await information later today with more details of how and when this will be released. As with all schools, we are also awaiting more detailed guidance on what September might look like; numbers of children allowed in school at any one time and what measures we will be expected to put in place.

As you will have seen in the news and recent events, there has much debate about equality in our society. I am proud that Grove Academy values all of its students equally and we remain committed to opportunity and success for everyone. Our curriculum is fundamental to promoting discussions and learning about our sense of self and identity so that the whole school community can feel valued and recognised.

Please remember that we continue to be here to support you. The school office is open to receive calls between the hours of 9 – 4.00 pm. Emails can be sent to office@groveacademy.co.uk and a member of staff will contact you within 48hours. If you are worried about a child, please email safeguarding@groveacademy.co.uk or phone us.

Thank you for your continued support. Wishing you a safe and happy week ahead.

Yours faithfully

Natalie Wismayer
