Parent Update - 25th March 2020

Pinned Announcement

Dear Parents and Carers,

These are unusual times indeed.  As we navigate these unprecedented waters we hope that you all are following the advice of the government and staying at home where you will be safe. Following the government’s announcement last week, schools will remain closed until further notice. We have contacted many parents to offer our support wherever possible and we will endeavour to continue to do so. Thank you for your patience whilst we resolved technical issues uploading work to the school website. We are pleased to confirm that work is now live.

We are, I am sure, all learning to engage with new technology and connect in different ways. Please could I ask that all parents and carers review the e-safety advice following the link below to ensure that your child keeps themselves safe online.

Please note that during the closure period our contact number has temporarily changed to 01753 537594.  Someone will be available to take calls between the hours of 9am and 3pm.  If you need to contact us out of office hours please email

Free School Meal arrangements

Many of you have raised questions about plans to be put in place for children eligible for free school meals and universal infant free school meals. Food vouchers will be emailed to you directly. These can be redeemed at all major supermarkets. May I remind all parents that you should not send your bank details to a third party.

Food Banks

Food banks are offering support for families in food crisis only. We have been asked to make explicit that this service is not for families who do not have what they would like, rather for those who do not have what they urgently need. Should you find yourself needing food bank support, please email  including a contact number and a member of staff will get in touch to signpost where you can access support.

Home Learning:

Work for your child is uploaded weekly to the school website.  It is also available on your child’s Class Dojo page.  You have been sent log-in details to this, but if you are struggling to access your account, please contact the school office.  On your Class Dojo page, your child will be able to create their own portfolio.  Please encourage your child to save some of their home learning in this file, for your child’s class teacher to see.

Work for your child is now live on the school website under the Home Learning tab.  Home learning is not the same as home schooling! Your child will have tasks to complete but please remember to take regular breaks and exercise safely if at all possible.
